MOCKINGBIRD TITLE EXPANDS INTO KNOXVILLE MARKET
Nashville-based title and escrow company establishes foothold in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Knoxville, TN, April 5, 2024: Mockingbird Title & Escrow Services, LLC announced today that it is opening an office in Knoxville. Mockingbird has been providing top notch title closing services to the Nashville and Middle Tennessee market for 5 years and intends to bring the same level of excellence to the heart of East Tennessee.
The hallmarks of Mockingbird Title’s superior service are outstanding industry knowledge, flexibility in closing accommodations, understanding of a wide variety of transaction types, and the attention to detail that an attorney-driven title company provides. Mockingbird has hired Laura Shoun, a Knoxville native with a varied real estate background, to drive its Knoxville ship.
Mockingbird Title Owner and Attorney Houston Akin described Ms. Shoun’s unique skill set, saying, “Laura has been a Realtor, a mortgage lender, and has been a title specialist for 24 years. She has seen every kind of closing transaction from every angle. This gives her an ability to understand all sides of a transaction that is unique in the industry. Also, it was important to bring in someone who knows and loves the Knoxville and East Tennessee community. It’s her home.”
While Mockingbird Title established its stellar reputation in Middle Tennessee, there has always been an eye on expanding throughout the state. “I’ve always loved Knoxville,” Akin said. “I bleed orange and my time at UT provided some of my most cherished memories. Seeing the progress the city has made and will continue to make is so gratifying to see. Knoxville will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Even the company’s chosen name indicated that a move across the state was in the cards. “The name has a bit of a double meaning. It seems like every attorney’s favorite novel is To Kill A Mockingbird, and it’s certainly mine. So that’s part of it. But more importantly, the mockingbird is the state bird of Tennessee. I love this state and I want to serve all of it. We’ve done so in Middle Tennessee. It’s exciting to have the privilege of serving East Tennessee next.”
Mockingbird Title’s first Knoxville location is at 200 Prosperity Drive, near the Cedar Bluff exit. Mockingbird Title can handle transactions that are commercial or residential, investment properties or owner-occupied, and those that are financed through a variety of means.
